The Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishing Lake
The Blackdyke Trout Fishery is situated near Hockwold-cum-Wilton, just 10 miles west of Thetford in the county of Norfolk in an area surrounded by beautiful East Anglian countryside and consists of a very clear 8 acre lake with large grassy banks for ease of casting.
The fishery has been establishing itself for over 4 years now, has a purpose built lodge to accommodate fly fishing customers and any guests, with toilet facilities for ladies, gents and the disabled, hot beverages and light snacks are also available.
The lodge has a wheelie boat for disabled anglers to enjoy being out on the water. A few rowing boats are available and float tubers are most welcome.
The lake has an abundance of natural fly life with a good stock of "hard fighting" rainbow trout from 2lb up to 12lb which respond well to dry flies. There is also a population of brown trout. The pretty village of Hockwold-cum-Wilton boasts several pubs and restaurants, a shop and even a local butcher.
What they say
"Many thanks for another expedition of fishing at Blackdyke at the weekend. The fishing was superb and it was great to see my two complete beginner Brother in Laws catching 8 between them and losing a few too!! As a party of 5 we caught 45 fish including a magnificent Brown Trout and most within 5 yards of the bank! Whether on dry fly, nymphs, dries or lures the fishing was superb!"
